Black94LT1
I remember the old show circuit SS from a few years ago, and I think that was a SC 6.0 L, but I can't recall. What is the final call on the engine, and what about the performance numbers Preston
Admin Mervz Posted September 12, 2002 Admin Report Share Posted September 12, 2002 The older 1999 Silverado SS Concept did have a supercharged engine. The production version SS will have a 6.0L engine, with 345hp, 380ft-lbs. Basicly the same engine as the Cadillac Escalade. It also will have the Escalades AWD drivetrain. 305fan
Just to set the record straight---the gold 99 Silverado SS WAS NOT supercharged. NA 6.0 with 395hp--I think it did a low 14 in the 1/4 mile.

C5SilverBullet
I thought I remember a Motor Trend with one of the earlier SS trucks that was over 500hp. Anyone else read this?

GreenRado
The only one I remember reading about was the Motor Trend (maybe Truck Trend, can't remember) that 305fan mentioned. That was said to have 395 HP, non SC or turbo.

VTECSiH8R
I was thinking along the lines of a TT setup. That would be badass!! If the thing had a TT, it would be similar to the Syclone and Typhoon. Hold the brakes and give it some gas to get max boost pressure and let go of the brakes and floor it. That would be F***ing awesome! I think a TT version of that engine could easily pull 700 hp if done right.

GregRexAdams
Positive Displacement Supercharging. Roots or twin screw. Otherwise, it's all high RPM. And in something that weighs over 6,000, you need TORQUE.
