RATFINK
I thought the 99 concept was a 6.6 litre based on the 6.0 platform. I do remember it was a N/A engine. RF

RF Yes, that is what I thought I read in MT. And it had some crazy HP numbers too. In the 400-500 range! Thank you, glad someone has verified I am not crazy! GregRexAdams
That was true. There were other "SS" trucks, like the Coolside II, that had various mods, like the SST, SSB, etc.
RATFINK
It seems to me GM is real good at making concept vehicles, but the end product sucks. RF

Bowtie Boy
OK Here is a question for you guys...Mervz, you can probably check this out. On the Cheers and Gears website they are saying that due to public complaints about the lack of power the SS has at 345 hp, GM is looking at getting more power out of the 6 liter and trying to get it up to the 375 the Lightning has. Have you heard this discussion Mervz...........

Have you heard this discussion Mervz........... Lightning has 380 horse.......... and the thing is, even if they bring the SS up to that level (which they can), its still going to be sitting in an extended cab. It'll be fast to be sure but still in the 14's (most likely). In reality until they get goin on a Regular cab version, competing with the lightning is trivial, they wont be able to do it (with the ext. cab).
