jerry46765 Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 For a 1st post, I was hoping to post something more postive than this topic. I am trying to buy a NEW 2004 Silverado SS from a local chevy dealer. I went in there as joe-blow off the street, with two SS's sitting on the lot since OCTOBER. 0% financing 72 month price was $36,563. I return with a GM suppliers discount number, same 0%, 72 month price is now $36,696 for the SAME truck. I showed them a copy of the offer they wrote up on the first go-round, and they said that was a mistake. I felt that I was getting ripped so I walked out. Still sort of ticked off. Now, since all the good incentives are gone, I'm not all inspired, BUT now my buddy at GM Racing got me a Friends & Family discount, which is good till July. What should I expect to pay for a new 2004 Silverado SS? Thanks - Jerry Here is the Sticker info - 2004 Silverado 1500 Extended Cab Standard Box 4x4 VORTEC 6000 V8 SFI GAS ENGINE HD 4-SPD AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION VICTORY RED DARK CHARCOAL TRIM VIN: 2GCEKxxNxxxxxxxxx MANUFACTURER'S SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE STANDARD VEHICLE PRICE $ 39,600.00 Options installed by Manufacturer AM/FM STEREO W/6-DISC CD CHANGER & BOSE SPEAKER SYSTEM $ 200.00 SPARE TIRE LOCK $ 15.00 SILVERADO SS DECOR INCLUDES: AIR COND, DUAL ZONE MANUAL OSRV MIRRORS W/DRIVER SIDE AUTO DIMMING, PWR FOLD &ADJ. TBSS Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 Go to Edmunds and configure the vehicle as called out on the sticker. They will give you the invoice price, which you can pay if you are persistent enough. This doesn't include any incentives, which are additional. The sticker on my 2003 Avalanche said ~$39K and I paid $29K and change with a $5K rebate.
04CHASE Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 that price seems high i think you should be able to get a new one for around 30-33K .It all depends on who you know and where you are located.
ChevySSandChevy8.1 Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 if its an 04 it should have some good discounts on it, and should be lower than 36, but if your in a smaller area, the prices tend to be higher
jerry46765 Posted January 12, 2005 Author Report Posted January 12, 2005 Thanks for the help. Edmunds was a good idea. My buddy was able to run the employee numbers, in the low $35k with no inventives or rebates. I was hoping to get in the 30-32 range. They aren't budging on 2004 pricing either, and both have been sitting there since October. I can probably outwait them, or go elsewhere since we found 63, yes sixty three New 2004 Silverado SSs in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Michigan. Wow! That's a bunch of trucks sitting on lots. I'll post pics when I get one. Thanks Again. Jerry
erice Posted January 12, 2005 Report Posted January 12, 2005 Most dealers have an internet sales department. I would locate all the dealers close to you that have an SS on the lot and e-mail the internet sales guy tell him what you want and wait for the best deal. Saves you time in the dealership.
