Nightshift Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 "brand-new 1957 Belvedere Sport Coupe sealed in a time capsule" I was talking to one of our systems people in Tulsa who mentioned this to me... It's interesting... The Buried Belvedere WW
billsws6 Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 that car is probably a rust bucket by now.
6.0ss Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 I can't imagine it lasting that long, it would have been better off in a garage for that much time!!!

black03zr5 Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 There was a guy who did that with a Corvette. I don't remeber all of the details but I think it was a '53. He was a barber in a small town and had been saving his money for a Corvette since he had heard of one coming out. When one finally did, he picked it up and built a space on the backside of the building for the car, pulled it in and walled it off. A several years later he died and the building was torn down, but they were surprised when they found a corvette inside with like 15 miles on it. Unfortunately the car was destroyed from mold and what not, but it is in the Corvette museum.
jchitwo Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 That is strange I'm going to have to go see that, I have relitives in tulsa... I mean why not?
CoolBlueSS Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 I saw something on this a while back. If it's a sealed capsule, it may not be too bad. Either way it'll be interesting to see.
xxjiggaxx Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Ok, who is going to be the first to bury their SS?
CoolBlueSS Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Ok, who is going to be the first to bury their SS? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not me!! Not me!!
cwest94 Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 I can't wait to see what that old car looks like when they bring it up out of the ground. No way I am putting my SS in the ground.
CrAzYMoPaRGuY Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 I actually heard about that story years ago, I frequent MoPar forums and I'm surprised how many guys DON'T know about it! I'm willing to bet the car is on Ebay within a week of getting "won"...? ;)
ChevySSandChevy8.1 Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 that car is probably a rust bucket by now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I wonder if the concrete hasn't already crumpled and crushed the car.
Nightshift Posted January 27, 2005 Author Report Posted January 27, 2005 If it had there'd been a sink hole or something... I'd like to see it too when they bring it up. WW
