vandy350 Posted February 18, 2005 Report Share Posted February 18, 2005 the direct replacement from flomaster is part # 530513 it is a dual inlet 3" with single 3.5" outlet the ss is not designed to run two mufflers with todays electronics! you will not get a better sound by going with a 40 series muffler. maybe for chevy 350's they sound great, but with todays chevy, the motors have a shorter stroke, and using a 40 series muffler just makes it sound fake! trust me, i have spent hundreds of $$ changing mufflers on my 5.3 vortec. although I cannot comment on the 6.0 liter, my previous experience says stick with the 50 series, they sound the best by far it you want the TRUE deep and tough sound! (and also if you like to listen to your stereo dont put 40's on it) the flowmaster #530513 (it is a 50 series) is the stock replacement for the ss, do not go to a muffler shop and just tell them to give you a 50 series muffler, there are many differences!
