BenKey
Personally, it's very hard for me to see spending the money for Corsa, when our stock exhaust system is pretty damn good, minus the muffler. That is not a dog on the system, just IMO, almost qualifies as an appearance mod. I would just change out the muffler and use the money saved to do something else. There is nothing special about their muffler, IMO.

I disagree that there is "nothing special" about the Corsa muffler. For a high-flow, straight-thru design it is remarkably drone-free in the cab and in the case of the Touring version, very quiet overall. Magnaflow would be my next choice, if you can stand the resonance at 1800-2000 RPM.
zippy
unfortunatly the odds of getting just a corsa muffler somewhere are pretty slim. you pretty much have to get the whole system.

dneumannjr
Hey Everyone !! I have a question and I apologize if it is a repeat. I have had a hard time using the search in this forum it doesn't like me. I am looking at exhaust for my truck as well and this thread sparks a question. I was looking at taking the truck to the local exhaust shop that I have worked with previously. The guy does REALLY good work and I was looking at having him run duals on the SS. The concern that I have is that the exhaust would not be mandrel bent. Is this going to cause a problem with the performance of the truck? Basically is it going to take away from rather than adding anything? I am going straight pipe no Muff. The truck is stock and is only going to get the basic mods (computer, intake, etc..) so there isn't any forced induction in it's future. I appreciate the suggestions in advance. Dave <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dont get a flowmaster unless you like ALOT of noise in the cab(resonance). I change my muffler out didnt seem any quicker just louder. Regular pipes may hurt performance a little and if its dual even more.
SSilverad03
It's all a matter of personal preference. I have dual 40 series flowmasters dumped and I love it. Matter of fact I was thinking of going louder with some single chamber flows.
dneumannjr
Okay I can see how the non-mandrel bent exhaust may be an issue when it comes to performance but how is running dual exhaust going to effect the performance??
vtodd82
i have gutted cats and no mufflers. with what you are wanting to do, you may want to have a x pipe put on to help out the scavenging. iam pretty sure if you run just dual exhaust, it may hinder your peformance. x pipes are pretty cheap to buy at most any speed shop. or you can have one made as well. I am having my stock muffler changed out tomorrow with the 50 series Flowmaster. I had the dual 40's on my '00 4X4 and it was a little too loud cruising at 60-70. I would love to get the Corsa system but do not want to spend the extra money. I really like the sound of the Flowmaster systems, and can't wait to see how my neighbors like it as well
