Front bumper paint

Recommended Posts

This winter I accidentally went a little to far forward and hit the wall in a parking structure. It left white scrates in the center of my front bumper. When I was washing my truck today I used a the spray car wash wand and the water caused the paint to peel off a bit in the area that I have white scratches. So now I have white scratches and peeling paint. Earlier this week I had battery acid eat away at the carpet in my back seat....not a good week for the ss.

Is there anything I can do to salvage my bumper's appearance? Can I spray paint it and have it look the way it should?

Is my only option to get a new one?

Depending on how much paint it missing, a touch up specialist may be able to air brush and blend in the spot. Otherwise, it can just be repainted completely.

Whats wrong with you are you ignorant?LOL

Spray wont get you looking new again. you may be able to slavage it wth some touch up paint, but most likelely it wont look new again , I would just save some $$ and get the whole panel whereever the scratches are repainted and posssibly have them blend the paint so you dont have alot to do, good luck

Hey ignorant. My last truck was a 99 xtreme s10. The first day I had it I tapped a parking curb witht he bumper cover (i wasnt used to a truck being that low) and it flexed the plastic bumber cover enough to crack the paint off... every time I washed it more and more paint would chip off. I found out that the person who had the truck before me put a new cover on it and the body shop that painted it didn't put enough flexor or something like that in the paint. I'm not sure how well touch up paint would work. I ended up having the whole bumper cover repainted and never had another problem.
