stevebbb
Has anyone tried the tow mode versus regular drive at the strip? What were the results? Sorry if this is a repost, but I couldn't find anything in the archives.
Big O
From what was posted on the board .... it was claimed that tow/haul actually hurt 1/4 times. I don't have any first hand knowledge ... but I thought I would impart what I read earlier.
fordsareslow
I know from expierience that it hurts. Made my truck run a mid 16 in the 1/4 compared to low 15's
kaotik1
I picked up a couple of 10th's by using the tow/hual manuel shift. From what I was told at WOT it overrides the shift point and you can drag out the rev to just before the limiter. I went 15.7 off idle in 3rd. I went 15.5, 1200 stall tow/haul shifting. Mind you those were the only two passes I made then rain.
Megashifter
Ummm... not having this 'option' I'd hazard a guess 'No'. Put 'er in drive... stall it to about 1100 'n let 'er go. With an automatic... do your burn-out in 2nd gear only for about 3 seconds @ 5000 rpm. Drop rear tire pressure to 19 psi... 46 psi up front. zippy
at wide open you won't notice a difference between the tow/haul mode and the normal mode. you can have it programmed to be different though.
ChevyMan23
My Tow/Haul was reprogrammed when I got my tune....but I have to take it to the track to test it....
