foxySS
Hi guys, I know most of you have Radix's but I got a Whipple and I'm thinking that maybe some of you could help me out here. I went to purchase a whipple programmer last night (from superchargersonline) and received an e-mail today saying the following: "Good Afternoon Chris, We can get the Flash Programmer out to you however Whipple is stating that you need to send the Whipple piggy back box back so they can calibrate it to work with the Flash Programmer. Please let us know what you would like for us to do with the order. If you need to cancel the order then we will just cancel it out at no charge, or if you want to continue with the order just let us know and we will make arrangements to pick up the Whipple Box. Thank you! " My question is if the piggy back is meant to make the 6.0 run with the whipple wouldn't they make it so it already acted as a power enhancer or PCM tune? I'm just wondering if it's worth paying the $595 for the programmer if it won't do much for the power. Does anybody know if it will make more power by adding it? Otherwise, the only things it could change would be the typical speedo/mph, shift points, enhanced shifting, speed governor.... Now I'm in a tough situation. iwineng03ss
i would say save your 595 and pay at the most 300 for a custom tune from a tuner like wait4me or pcmforless.. i know that for 150 u can get a good tune from jesse wait4me. i was definetly impressed with his tune. and it was half the price that anyone else was charging!!! BenKey
I would not get the programmer. I'd get a custom tune. Are you also getting a FMU? You could also get rid of it and put in 42lb injectors instead.

zippy
it seems odd that you'd run a piggy back setup with a properly programmed pcm. you should only need one or the other.
diggler_d
so what did you decide to do? i had to send my whipple computer (piggy back box) back when i went to rear injectors and cold air they said they had a better program for the computer because the original program was from an esclade not an ss so when they did some testing on it with a ss and they made a new program which you don't have! Which i guess is better? What knid of boost are you seeing during shifting? Dustyn
foxySS
Not exactly sure about the boost but I know it's got the standard 5 1/2 lb. pulley on there. So, I'm guessing that's what I'm probably seeing. All I know is screw paying $600 for a programmer when I can get tranny upgrades and the PCM done by Bryan for a much better value when it's all said and done. so what did you decide to do? i had to send my whipple computer (piggy back box) back when i went to rear injectors and cold air they said they had a better program for the computer because the original program was from an esclade not an ss so when they did some testing on it with a ss and they made a new program which you don't have!
