whmayhew
Can anyone tell me the difference between the 6.0 in my 2005 HD and the LQ 9 that I had in my SS? I did a search but did not find anything.
VHO_Tek
Can anyone tell me the difference between the 6.0 in my 2005 HD and the LQ 9 that I had in my SS? I did a search but did not find anything. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> According to GM 2005 2500HD's use the LQ4 6.0L motor, 300hp at 4400rmp with 360ftlp torque at 4000rpm. The LQ9 is 345hp at 5200rpm with 375/380ftlp torque(depends on data sheet) at 4000rpm. LQ4 is has 9.4 compression, LQ9 is 10.1 but have also seen 10.4 ratio on the LQ9. That what you're looking for or the more technical aspects of head, block, cam differences? Blocks are the same, pistons different.
cadowns
Correct, Pistons are the only difference. The tunes would be a little different as well. Everythig else is the same. CD
