ericwf
Who out here has installed a Wester's PCM in your SS, and how do you like it??? I'm strongly leaning that way....
whmayhew
I am waiting for Hypertech, they said that they would be 50 state certified in January. I have not heard enough good about the Webster's to spend $595.
Silvsteve
I don't have but a couple do and they seem to be impressed. Try these search results: SilveradoSS.com Search
FalconPilot
3000 miles on a Westers PCM. Long and short of it. Do not expect more than a few tenths (if you are lucky) in the 1/4 (on an SS. On an 8 Liter you get just under 1 second!) Do expect: firmer shifts, faster acceloration after the 2-3 shift, and a greatly increased top speed. He is still working with some of us to get our personal computers to do what we want. Mine came perfect. My cousin has sent his back 4 times to change things. NO CHARGE!! Nothing wrong, just little things he wanted different. Chad

whmayhew
I can have my Hypertech reprogrammed for $200., if they ever get it done.
blackhawk
whmayhew: Yeah I found that out a couple months ago as well, right AFTER I sold mine for my 00’ 5.3 Silverado. Hypertech said they are going to release the programmer around January *finger crossed*
ericwf
Thanks to all for the feed back. I ordered my PCM today, got to speak with Lindon. I'm having him programm the device according to his best experience. If I don't like it, I'll have him re-programm it. This may be blasphemy to some, but I'm not interested how fast my truck can do the 1/4 in. I want my trucks best performance to be in the range I drive it in everyday!! And from what Chad said, and other folks, posts and forum comments, its clear to me that this seems to be what I want from a PCM mod. I'll keep you informed as to my experience/opinion after I get it installed and run it!
rmcswain
Logical reasoning for a Westers PCM, go for it Eric, and keep us posted
thehemi
Do not expect more than a few tenths (if you are lucky) I would not expect too much from a PCM on a NA motor. A couple tenths would be nice! Is fuel mileage any better? Or even worse?
ridnlow135
Most people are getting better fuel mileage i have seen a few who have gotten worse..
