Cable TV and Internet

Just curious what everyone has to shell out for cable tv and internet access. Just got my bill from Comcast :puke: yesterday for $192.55 for both. Seems they raised the prices LAST month and FORGOT to bill me at the new higher rate. So I get nailed for this months' higher rate and half a month of last months' higher rate.

I was paying $96.82 per month for tv and internet including all taxes and surcharges. Now they want $145.00 per month for the same thing. :icon_bs: Needless to say they are both being changed over to Wide Open West this saturday. $118.00 for the same service. Still way too much!

Well what kind of tv service do you have? Have HBO, SHO, HD, a DVR? Around here your looking at about $45 for basic cable and anywhere from $30-45 for internet.

TV is digital cable with HBO and Starz with a DVR. Internet is 4mbs cable.

I get Direct TV for $52 (after taxes, etc) and Internet for $30.  Sounds kind of steep on your end unless you get a lot of the extras.  Rent any PPV Porns   :nono:  :D

Never rent ANY movies. They'll come on for free eventually. On a side note--talked with my neighbor yesterday about this. His bill was nearly $600.00. Turns out his 16 year old daughter IS renting porn. She says she didn't realize you had to pay for it. :banghead:

Well local that tv service would be $73.04 plus tax so add $30 to $40 for internet and the $96 wasn't bad, but that $145 is unreal

I got direct TV as well and pay 54 (final cost). IMO Direct TV is the only way to go. I got internet through Net Zero (dial up high speed) for like $15 month final cost.

I want DSL however there is only one company that offers it in my area and they run a monopoly and charge through the nose. I will wait for some competition for them.

I never get that kind of neighbor. :banghead::jester: Mine is around 130 or so a month for digital cable, cable internet, and HBO. No other options around here for internet as fast.

That's because Comcast are a bunch of thieving bastards; I had their service when I lived in Glen Rose and they are the most expensive untility I have ever paid bar none and I've lived in many places during the last 10 years. What is so bad about Comcast is their impromptu billing policy/rate hikes, surprise we raised our rates. And for the top dollar you pay the digital cable and internet products they provide are just terrible. Cable internet is just a broadband technology, so the more people on their network (peak hours) the slower it crawls; for the same price as what they are charging you I get 5mb DSL service and it never slows down during peak hours. Point is, change dude, and don't look back 'cause you're being rooked.
