Torque specs

Not sure if this has been posted or not (yes I tried searching).

What are the torque specs for lug nuts on the SSS? I was told two different stories. I had a problem with one or two loose on my Boss wheels recently.

The guys who put the wheels on originally told me 110 for the Boss wheels and 130 for the factory. Now my local tire guy says 140 no matter what.

Any help would be appreciated. Don't want to break any lug studs later down the road.

I think we were through this a couple weeks ago. The torque for the 12mm lugs on the 1500's is 85-95.

I just installed new wheels on my 2500HD and the torque for the 14mm's is 140 according to the owners manual.

I also found this:

Lug Size Ft/Lbs Torque

7/16" 55-65

1/2" 75-85

9/16" 95-115

5/8" 135-145

12mm 72-80

14mm 85-95

Either way...I would not go over 85-90 for a 12mm stud.

Are you referring to the bolt size or lug nut size? On my factory lug nuts I use a 22 mm socket (or maybe 20). I have not looked at the owners manual yet, but went on and torqued them to 130...which did not seem like much more then they were already.

Thanks for the info guys.

It is the stud size it is referring to.

The owners manual says 1500 and 2500 series trucks (with 6 lugs?) are 14mm and torqued to 140, but the 2500's and 3500's all have 8 lugs.

Can Zippy clear this up by asking one of his tech's?
