lakas187
What is this speaker looking thing on the headliner?
dcairns
I seem to recall reading (over at GM-Trucks.com) that this is a temperature sensor for the climate control. Has a tiny fan in it. The mic for the OnStar is on the side of the console above the mirror.
BenKey
Sinister should be able to confirm soon enough what it is when he gets a new one. If he does?
SinisterSS
My headliner won't get replaced for a while. It is $200+ and has to be shipped "to a business." My supicions tell me it is for the auto-climate control as well. Anyone without the auto-climate confirm they do not have this?

SinisterSS
No On$tar here and I have the little doohickey.
blackhawk
It’s probably the receiver for the On-Star cell phone feature. I had 300 minutes for a free trial and it worked pretty good. It wasn’t worth the price for the amount of minutes you receive, to renew this feature though.

03blkss
Hey guys that is a temperatue sensor for the climate control. When I first started selling cars I saw that and was wondering what it was, I just went and asked one of the service advisors and they told me. GEAR M UP
It’s the mic for the Stereo system. You can set stereo setting up when ambient noise increases the volume of the radio goes up.
dcairns
It’s the mic for the Stereo system. You can set stereo setting up when ambient noise increases the volume of the radio goes up. So the stereo system plays louder if you sing along. I am still pretty sure this is for the climate control.
