The question is should I upgrade the 4l65e and keep it or go to 4l80e? If you think I should keep the 65e what upgrades should be done? zippy Posted June 28, 2006 Report Share Posted June 28, 2006 At only 450RWHP it would seem excessive to put in an 80E and take the power loss as well as poorer fuel economy cause by the extra weight, parasitic drag, and less overdrive ratio. 05VHO Posted June 29, 2006 Author Report Share Posted June 29, 2006 thanks thats what I've heard about the 80. Some people that have switched don't like the gearing and you lose a lot of power. I don't really want to buy a new tranny I would rather replace the parts that fail the most in the one I already have.
