BenKey
SS is still faster than the 5.3L. Although close, it still beats it.
hatrack
I ran a 2wd xcsb the other day and bet him by over 2 truck lenghts from 0 to 95. I was behind him at a light and he kept looking in the mirror and jumping forward, when the light changed I laid off alittle until the right lane opened and cut over and went around him and had a front door when we shut down at 95. SSminneapolis
the 5.3's are pretty quick...although we are plenty equipped to beat them...they wil keep close for the most part...but once you get into the higher rpms and high mph...you lead will lengthen... zippy
a regular cab 5.3 will beat the ss, but the extended cab 5.3 won't. (2wd obviously). mearly changing programming including shift points on the 5.3 is a huge jump and pretty much puts the 5.3 extended cab ahead. without even engine tuning, the shift points are worth at least 2 tenths on the 5.3 since the shift points are way too low.
