XSS
I am breaking down and buying HPT and need to buy a laptop. This will be a dedicated laptop for tuning. What requirements am I looking for? What kind of outputs do I need from it? RAM etc. Help!!!
Bowtie70SS
Go on the HP forum, that's the best advice I can give you HERE But my HPtuners used a serial cable so I had to also buy a USB to serial converter. A lot of memory and a pretty fast processor help with logging a lot. Dave
XSS
So it looks like a serial cable and fast processor! Is that all?
Krambo
Right from their website: Minimum * 400 MHz CPU * 64 Mb RAM * Microsoft Windows® 98 SE * Serial Port* (Version 1 Serial Interface Only) * USB Port (Version 2 USB Interface Only) Recommended * 650 MHz CPU * 128 Mb RAM * Microsoft Windows® 2000/XP * Serial Port* (Version 1 Serial Interface Only) * USB Port (Version 2 USB Interface Only) *If you are using a Version 1 Serial (RS232) Interface and do not have a native serial port you can use a USB to Serial adapter. Use only quality USB adapters such as the SocketCom PCMCIA card adapter or Keyspan USB-Serial adapter (part # USA-19HS). Use of poor quality adapters will result in poor performance, data corruption or Windows "Blue Screen".
