slj
Driving 75 down the freeway today and had a blowout on the pasenger rear. Odd thing is, there is no punture on the tire, and a consistent tear directly down the middle of the sidewall. Anyone else seen this.? This is a little scary considering most of us are using these tires, and most of us are not conservative drivers. FYI, I have 14K miles on the truck and completely stock. I dont mind buying a new tire, but I'm curious if this is an isolated incident.
BenKey
Don't buy a new tire. Go to Goodyear and get it replaced. I would be interested in what they have to say.

slj
I'm glad to report this appears to be a false alarm. After showing a friend at a tire store, we were able to find a small entrypoint in the tire. It would appear I drove on the flat just long enough to generate heat that split the sidewall. So, word of advice would be to IMMEDIATELY swerve off the road if something feels odd.(even at 75, or was it 90?<g>) Times like this, I miss the runflats on my old c5. TireRack + $134 and issue is closed.
BenKey
Not a bad price, though. When I first bought mine, I researched on the internet and the cheapest stock replacement tires I could find was $168. That was in May.
