New Dyno Numbers With the Intercooled Rotrex

Recommended Posts

This afternoon I had the opportunity to make a few runs on a Mustang chassis dyno.

Some of you may remember at the Zippy event I was able to reach

437 RWHP & 440 ft-lbs of torque.

Today, with the help of Zippy , his laptop and the addition of 60lb injectors

and a smaller pulley I was able to achieve

495.3 RWHP & 476.7 ft-lbs of torque.

With the correction factor added in to compensate for the weather that equals

500 RWHP & 478 ft-lbs!

Zippy feels there's still more to be gained but for now I'm thrilled

with these numbers.

I know Frank - CHASSIS DYNO! These numbers will suffice until next

Saturday's M11 event.

We'll see if I can actually put some of this power on the ground!

I'm sorry guys, I'm stupid when it comes to tuning.

I rely on Zippy for that. Zippy, can you answer these questions?

We did see 9lbs of boost just before it shut down.

I'm not convinced the dyno operator ran it long enough.

He shut it down at 5920 rpm (120mph).

Last time, before the latest mods,

we ran it to 6200 with the peak HP at approx 5800.

Next time we'll run it to 6200.

I don't know how much HP the T-56 cost but the operator

made an educated guess at 565 FWHP taking into consideration

the accessories, 4.56 gear and the heavy wheels.

I hope you can get that thing to hook......

Thanks Vince! I hope I can put some of that

power on the ground but I'm not counting on it!

I'm anxious to see how your CalTrac's work.

Hopefully they wil do a better job on track prep than they did last time I went.
