Z4pp
I saw a nice looking 07 VMAX crew cab today, had a big nice red Vortec MAX emblem on the doors. Whats the horsepower on those suckers? Anyone know, I think I heard 367, but im not sure.
detjoe
280 maybe to the wheels, stock.
Jond983
it's like 367 or so
11H
Mostly due to the VVT on the new motor ... from what I have been told; the torque curve at the lower end should be similar than the non-VVT LQ9
petedylancash912
im pretty shure that its 350 stock

Bad Bowtie
Not ALL "Vortec Maxx" trucks have the 6.0L PERFORMANCE PACKAGE. The sure fire way to know if it is fast is the 20" wheels. If it has 20" wheels then I'm pretty sure it is 6.0L powered, that is unless the owner added the 20's after the point of sell..... ;)
Z4pp
Plus the big red VMAXX emblem gives it away too ;)
Bad Bowtie
No that's what I'm trying to say. They put that door badge on 5.3L trucks with just the H/D towing platform too (4.10 gears, etc)!!!
BRUTONMOTORSPORTZ
The Vortec Max Trailering package NHT for the OBS and NBS trucks requires the 6.0L motor. If the truck has the Vortec Max decal on the door then it has the 6.0L. The dealer or seller is adding the Vortec Max decal if it has something other then the 6.0L. Best way to check is the VIN. You could get the 20's later on without getting the high performance package. There was also another package where you got the Z60 suspension and 20's with the 5.3L. The OBS trucks have the LQ9 345HP and the NBS trucks have the 367HP L76. The Vortec Max package also requires the Z85 suspension which includes the 4.10 gears. You can now get the L76 6.0L in the NBS trucks without getting the Vortec Max Trailering package. The L76 6.0L is also available in the Suburban 1500 and Avalanche trucks also. I will have to look, but I don't believe my truck has the Z85 RPO code as part of the Vortec max performance pack ... 11H Edited November 17, 2006 by 11H (see edit history)

11H
I wonder if I got jipped on my engine oil cooler? I don't see one @ the sending unit as I did on my LQ4 2004 HD Is it a different config on the LQ9? Is the RPO for external engine oil cooler NWP ? Let me know, because I don't see one on my truck ... The aux trans cooler is there however ... 11H
