I wanna run 1 2000 watt earthquake amp with with two 12's. Im really scared to install this without sufficient power. so i want to buy a bigger alternator. i have no idea how big or where to buy from for a good price. please let me know what you all have, and possibly how amps should the new alternator have??? 04CHASE Posted November 12, 2006 Report Share Posted November 12, 2006 it was a 145 amp alt , and it was then sent to an aftermarket shop to get beefed to 200 amps. there is a 160 amp stock alt that comes off the police package tahoe. however i do not have th epart number sorrry. check perf truck they have them fro sale often.
