Shift kit or PCM Tune?

Which would be a better thing to get done at this point in time. A shift kit or a PCM tune? I am planning on getting my exhaust redone with edelbrock shorty headers going to dual Flowmaster super 40's out the right side and i have an AEM Brute Force intake. Also if i do a shift kit do i need to do the TC? I heard the TC takes a toll on the MPG? thanks for all the help.

i think they will both compliment each other. i can tell you that i did the shift kit first with no tune as the new 06 pcm's were still on order and i couldnt believe the results. but when i added the tune to go with it, it was a whole new ballgame. i think there are others who have just done the tune and are happy with it but i believe to really get those really really firm shifts i think you need to change hard parts (i.e. springs, servos, etc) in trans to do so.
