04CHASE Posted December 24, 2006 Report Share Posted December 24, 2006 with just a small system and e fans, it can bring an alternator to it's knees, if you upgrade might as well only have to do it once 0/1 gauge <{POST_SNAPBACK}> that was my thoughts too , i already have a 200 amp alt and with all the electrical stuff i have it needed to be done. so i ran 1/0 gauge. i needed like 20 ft of 1/0 gauge and 5-6 feet of 4 gauge for the alt. orlando Posted December 24, 2006 Author Report Share Posted December 24, 2006 I used the factory fuse just to save cash. In stead of jumping straight to the battery I replaced the wire from the ALT to the fuse block and then from the load side of the fuse jumped over to the battery. If you have a 200amp ALT then you will need to add a 200amp inline fuse. Great mod even small systems can benifit from it. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
