RPM_King
Ok so here is what happened. About a month ago I was talking to a friend of mine who just got a 05 Silverado SS. I fell in love with his truck and he told me that the dealer he bought it from had one more. I immediately went to the dealer to look at the truck. It was an 03 Silverado SS w/ 17xxx miles and they were asking 25,900 for it. I told the sales guy that I wasn't going to make any major buys before the holiday. Tonight I went to look at the truck again. I hooked up with the sales rep. that's been bugging me ever sense my first encounter. He gave me a quote of 23,800. That wasn't good enough, I thought. So I made an offer of 21,000. He spoke with the sales manager and came back with a quote of 21,500. I wasn't to happy with that. Two seconds later the sales manager comes over and asks me "Is this a buy it now offer of 21,000 or a I'm thinking about it offer". I wasn't thrilled with his attitude and I told him it was a "thinking about it offer". He goes into the back to talk to the "owner" and comes back with my original quote of 21,000. He then explains to me that they have had the truck for a while and would really want to get rid of it. He went on to say that they have the truck listed in the paper for 22,600 This just pissed me off because the sales guy just tried selling it to me for 23,800. I played it cool and just told them I'd think it over. They were kind enough to leave the 21,000 quote on the table for 24 hours. . I really love these trucks anybody know somewhere in North East PA that won't rip me off. I might go back tomorrow and raise hell. Bonj87
id go back and say how you feel the sales guy was tryin to rip you off with the price being higher than they had it listed for. tell them you'll buy it for 20,000 , but only if they give you one hell of a warranty.. otherwise you will walk away and never come back.. there is always another SSS in the world for sale. Bowtie70SS
I agree, call and tell them 20K with the extended warranty (dosen't cost them anything). The mark up on SUV's and trucks is sick. Leave them your number...I bet you'll get a call by the weekend. Dave

gixxerrider
Whats the name of the dealer? try to call and talk the sales man on the phone or email the inventory manager a OTD price. Thats how I got mine cheaper
gmc55
You alway's have to be willing to walk away. I think the truck is worth 21,xxx but they probably don't have half that in it. If you think the truck's worth it buy it but if you think they are ripping you a new one walk away you can alway's find another. ;)
SoCalSS
Maybe Im the only one here that feels for the dealer. Its a business and they need to make money too is the way I look at it. If they arent willing to budge on the price then no skin off your nose, just walk out and look for another truck somewhere else. I know everyone wants to get a great deal, but dealerships have to make money too, they arent always willing to take a loss on a truck or even sell it at wholesale when they know theres some schmuck that will but that truck for $23K+. AND TELL THEM HOW YOU FELT. ALSO TELL THEM THAT YOU HAVE ANOTHER OFFER, EVEN IF YOU DONT. THAT USUALLY GETS THE BALL ROLLING IN THE RIGHT "KISS YOUR ASS" DIRECTION. misterp
I feel for you being treated like that by the dealer - however $21K for a low-mileage SS is an equitable deal IMO but just know that once you sign the paper that dealership will never want to talk to you again. Then again, IT'S JUST A TRUCK - there are thousands more of them! Good luck on your SSS hunt. And welcome to the forum Mr. P.
AUTOGUY
How can you feel they are ripping you off when the accepted YOUR offer of $21,000.00? If I were you, I would call them 1st thing in the morning and take the deal. If not, I'm sure someone else will realize a good deal when they see it. I have worked with car dealers every day for the last 16 years, and I have seen so many people pass on deals that are so good, even I think about buying whatever it is because I know a good deal when I see one. That is exactly how I came across my SS. A friend of mine that owns a Dodge dealership took it on trade with 3100 miles, and I knew the price he gave me was good when it was close to $15,000 off the sticker price. The day I went in to pick it up, there was a wholesaler there offering him $500.00 more than what I paid. I guess my point is, they gave you the price you offered, so step up and do the deal now!! Black2003SS
Why not buy one with mods already off of here or performancetrucks.net? You can get one with heads, cam, headers, etc for not much mroe than that, or one with a blower for not much more than that. You know once you buy it you will want upgrades. Its the route I wish I had gone...seriously. Wasnt there one in the classifieds with heads and cam running low 13's for like 21-22k?

PladdPezzPunk
sounds like a great deal. too bad the dealer is an ass. hope they make amends. offer them 15000. either they get insulted and don't jive at all or they come back with a quote for a happy medium.
