Great Movie.

Just a little bit of info,

The writer/producer was traveling Route 66 to get a feel

for the life of the road and to get ideas for characters, and on his journey he

came through my home town (Stroud, OK). There is a little restaurant called the Rock Cafe

here and he stopped to eat there and befriended the owner, Dawn, which I grew up with.

He ended up staying with her and her family for a couple of days, and he was

so impressed with her attitude and generosity that he created the character Sally after her.

Kind of neat to see how people get their ideas for things, and to see a person you know get

a splash of limelight.

We took at trip to Colorado one year, and decided to TRY to take Route 66 through the Texas panhandle. It was pretty cool, but couldn't do it very long at that point. It kept going off and on of I40.
