4ws f 7
Thanks for the vote of confidence. I just changed the oil and filter at 1200 to Mobile One and there was a lot of fine metal particles (almost like sand) in the drain pan. There was a little metalic goo on the plug which I ve seen before on new vehicles. What do you think about that?? Still a sign of breakin? Normal? Runs strong and fine at this point. Did anyone notice the particles a first oil change? Great idea to change oil early and switch to Mobil 1, I work on cars and have seen noises go away when using Mobil 1 over other oil's, synthetic or not. Although my 01 5.3 slapped alot at times, started around 10k miles, sold it at 50k miles, so far my 05 6.0 is ok with 20k miles. Note: I have always used Mobil 1 in both trucks. Dirt.boy
Not to hi-jack, but.... How do you tell the difference between piston slap and lifter noise? My 8.1l suburban sounds like a diesel on start up. Dealer thought it was lifters and flushed the engine but didn't change much. Greg
