RATFINK
Your going to have to get a side by side pic of your old 454 SS and the new SS. Two black SSs crossing a decade (or even the century, if you want to put it that way 20th century SS meets 21st century SS ). That would look cool Have you broke the news of your new toy to the guys over at 454ss.com? And are we going to have to call you "MouseFink" now? This isn't my truck it is the shop truck where I work. ;) I think that absolves me of any infidelity.
RATFINK
how's the new b.b. coming? Slowly and painfully. I haven't had enough spare time to even touch it in a few months, hopefully after first of the year I can get back on it. I have had my "original" SS torn down so long now that I had begun having withdrawls and had to buy myself another 90 model to drive till I get the other one finished. So now I have one 90 model for a street strip toy and another 90 model for a tow vehicle.
zippy
if i recall correcrtly, 90 has no o/d. do they like fuel stations?
RATFINK
if i recall correcrtly, 90 has no o/d. do they like fuel stations? Fuel consumption isn't high on my list of prioroties given my intended usage for the truck. And yes the 90 model has the T400 sans overdrive, the 91-93 came with the 4l80e which is more or less a revamped T400 with an overdrive and ecm control. My daily driver "tow rig" 90 model knocks down a pretty solid 12 mpg, runs high 12's in the 1/4, and will tow a house.
zippy
a solid 12mpg. not bad i guess for a big block with 3.73's and no overdrive.

Around town with my driving habits it doesn't hit 12 mpg very often. I have driven the truck to Bowling Green twice (240 miles) and averaged 12-13 mpg both trips, I was pleased with that.
