Admin Mervz Posted December 5, 2002 Admin Report Share Posted December 5, 2002 I want to hear from everyone!! What do you think about the SS's pricing?
muscleshop
The frigin price wasnt high enough already???? They TOOK away some of the original standard things and are now charging extra for them, without lowering the msrp. Seriously considering calling my dealer tomorrow and cancelling the order!!! RATFINK
Ford has this truck outclassed with the HD150. I know a guy who got one for $31,900 right off the lot. And that statement is coming from a die hard bowtie freak. RF
jwest1975
"No, Its Way Too High" It really should have been about 3k less fully loaded. I'm still gonna get one though..... Justin
boycer
I don't think anyone will say that it is fine. Maybe if it was supercharged.
dcairns
Considering I have to add a $4000 supercharger to the price of $41,625, which makes it $45,625. This is way too high. Compare to the Ford Harley F-150 at $38,000 and you gotta wonder what is going on. There are not that many more features on the SS to command that kind of difference. If it wasn't for the fact that I can't stand Ford's truck styling, I would have defected long ago. They really have their act together on the performance truck scene. If the SS came with a supercharger for $41,625, that would still be a bit high but within reason. That being said, I am still buying the SS. They have managed to tease me up another $4000, but the SS is the truck I want. I am over the edge on common sense in terms of value for my money. I just need to make my deposit before I come to my financial senses...

dcairns
Hey froggychevy- Are the dealers still thinking they will be able to sell these for MSRP?
99Xtreme
I think the price is way to high for what your getting.I talked to a guy at the my local dealer and asked him what they are going to sale them for because they have this best pricing deal there. All there vehicles are priced way below sticker price,he thinks they might be selling them between 35000 and 38000,he wasnt sure yet. They have some good deals,a friend is buying a 03 cavie sport coupe from them, the sticker is 18300 or so,the best prce is 13750. mgm13
Typical GM BS on this sky high price!! What are you gonna do after you spend your $42,000 and it clanks and bangs and they tell you "its a normal charactristic of the truck"?
andythompson005
It seems to me that Chevy is taking advantage of their die-hard "I wouldn't be caught dead driving a Ford" fans and taking them for all their worth on this SS deal. You won't see me at the dealership ordering one any time soon.
99Xtreme
heres an example of how my local dealer prices trucks,im going to look at this one tonight http://www.ressler-chevrolet.com/4DLink/4d...100002/55800.
SilveradoKid
I like this price. I wonder what kind of crack they were smoking when they put these numbers up... I WISH it had an MSRP of $18,936!
dcairns
I dunno, but GM needs some of that crack
froggychevy
Ok,in my experience working for dealerships, the "traditional" ones are first gonna try to sell the SS above sticker, using the first come, first served method. And then everyone else from there on.It's a damn shame. Also,i'm meeting some "people" over the weekend to investigate the rumor of a reg cab in '04.
