I have to tell you I broke a bunch off these years ago and have used the alto wide band since. At this point I've not yet had a failure with the pro series band. The wide band usually gives no problem either, but I have pulled a couple of them out with un-even wear. The band choice is just one of those that if you find one that you've had good luck with you just stick to that. So far I'm happy with it. As for bringing it in to a trans shop, that is only needed if you don't want to do it yourself. The Transgo kit is a kit of it's own. No need to mix that kit with something else.
