DRU
I am currently in Iraq, but will be home in May. I've been wanting an SS for a while now. I want to buy an '05 or newer because they are 2 wheel drive. I need some feed back about models older than '05, the AWD. I've heard alot of things about the transmision's and front differential going out on the all wheel drive models. Is this true? I just need to know if I should spend the extra money on the '05 or newer? Or if I could get something older than an '05 and not have to worry about the damn thing going out on me?And if there are any other common problems people have with the older models? Thanks. TreverT
I've never heard of the transfer case having any issues and the 4L65e is going to last depending on how you treat it. I run a built 4L65e .......I'm pushing it a bit but it has been holding up with the abuse.
Hankg42
There are a number of people that have had front diff issues, but I'm not one of them (yet). But I don't beat the crap out of my truck either. I also change the fluids as recommended. My truck has been extremely reliable (knock on wood). And I love the AWD. I have just over 40K miles on it. Get home safe from Iraq. Edited March 20, 2008 by Hankg42 (see edit history)
