haul@ss
I know that when i install my roll pan and remove the stock hitch it'll raise the rear. I have Belltech leaf springs and I was wondering if it would be possible to add 1" or 2" drop shackles. Since there was no change in my pinion angle by just replacing the leaf springs, wouldn't it just be like adding drop shackles to a stock truck? The only problem i can really think of is bottoming out, but that shouldn't even be a problem either because I'm not really dropping the truck any more than it already is; I'm practically just trying to compensate for the raise in height due to weight loss. Any suggestions or opinions?

Any suggestions or opinions? You can get away with a 4" rear drop, but 5" or more on an NBS requires a notch. I'm running 3" Belltech leafs (Really 4") and no hitch, and do not bottom out at all in the rear. On OEM shocks no less.

haul@ss
I'm not trying to lower the truck's height any more than it is tho!!! haha what i'm sayin is, when i get the roll pan on n remove the spare n hitch, it'll raise the rear back up right? so I'm planning on using shackles to bring it back down to the height it is at right now. make sense? AK04SS
probably raise it a little, maybe less than half an inch. i know it took around 200lbs of sand bags to lower the rear of my truck.
rivierakid55
youll probably need a c notch. your drop leafs are more like 4inches of drop then add 2 for the shackles gets you six....maybe 5 with the pan but it would be real close. haul@ss
i guess i'll just see what i need to do after the pan is installed..
NTMD8R_SS
It shouldn't raise it that much. Maybe if you get the shackle and use it in the 1" drop hole you will be at the same height.
