Would this set up take the place of a cold air intake system without the hood? What do you look for in buying a hood? Is this system worth the money? zippy Posted February 23, 2004 Report Share Posted February 23, 2004 i haven't gotten to see it up close yet, but a ram air kit like that would probably work pretty well in keeping the air intake temp's down and getting alot of air in there. personally i'd rather have the goodmark hood for it's looks, but i've yet to see a kit to use the goodmark for it's built in cold air ability. when looking for a hood, look for steel if weight isn't an issue since they'll fit better and color match easier. I have been trying to find a hood that is fiberglass or maybee carbonfiber, our hood is quite heavy, and this could be an area of substantial weight savings...
