SPEEDCRAVIN
Anyone know when the down tube will be out for the ram air intake?? I was told by Volant it would be out sometime January. That was early December! I'm not upset or mad, just would like to know...
Big10Fan
does it even help much? you cant really dyno it unless you have a fan blowing the exact speed of air in, just wonderin
SPEEDCRAVIN
Volant claims an increase on the ones that are for the LT trucks and so has guys running them? I'm not sure but it cant hurt since it would feed air direct instead of sucking air from under the vehicle. I'm not an egnineer but I think the space between the bumper and fenderwell does not have any pressure. (It lets the engine suck rather than the vehicle speed feed)
zippy
i could see it picking up some power. best way to find out when would be to call the company themselve unless you're lucky and someone here knows.

desrtrat
im intrested to know what about water getting into the air box not plaining to ford deep water, but at speed with heavy rain being pulled up.
deezel
I have not had any problems with water and my ram air duct. I get a little bit of sand/dirt in the airbox, but it seems like the size of the tube and the sharp turn upwards keep most of the water out. tbyrne
The new scoop is supposed to be avaialble in a few weeks. New products nevery come out when their supposed to but this one should finally be avaialble soon. I run one on my Suburban and haven't had any problems in the rain. It has to feed air up to the box which sits up pretty high so I wouldn't have any concerns unless you were driving in DEEP water. Something that most SS owners probably won't do Tom
howardl
I am an engineer and I have a couple of frends that are aero engineers, we did the ram air calculations for a racing venue and the added pressure was very very low to even at 120 mph. Don't waste youre money.
