HAILRZR Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 I will try to make this short and will apologize for not having good tech info but will fill it in if it is needed...long story short really bad shop ethics and my out of town travel that made things worse. The truck 2003 SS Silverado AWD Vortec supercharger, 8-9psi, intercooler, forget the name but wedge shaped one that sits on top of motor battastini headers, exaust upgraded forget who larger injectors, intake k&N...... big dissapointment couldn't get to the power.....then added 2600 stall zippy shift kit tranny cooler after the that it was in and out of the same shop for most of the next six months, burned up third at one point, after long conversations with shop, that was full of excusses and kept chrging me everytime it would throw code (never ran right for more than 3 days at this point, and me spending over 14 grand) I spoke with tranny guy who installed shift kit and stall and after speaking to them he thought it was in the program but according to the shop who did the work the programer insisted it was in the stall...shop wanted to change stall,at my expence of course ...but I made them call the programer and shut of all the torque managment files... finally would run after 6mo. and I could stop borrowing a truck! Now I am trying to figure this out... It would throw code when you would be going at slow to normal speed up a slight hill, it would throw the code right about the time a load would go against the tranny and RPMS would raise...25-30 mph then boom Service engine light, and stuck in limp mode or stuck in third...now with the torque managment files all off,no throwing code and is drivable but it gets the shift points all stacked up and shifts at low RPMS when I get on it, so power is there but after first shift its like it runs through the rest of the gears so fast. Any ideas????? Quote
04CHASE Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 sounds like the famous p0757 code or similar. do you know the exact code? for that low of a stall its kind of weird it throws that. most of the time its a minumum 3k stall that causes this. sounds like your tune needs some work . No been awhile, not sure on code, but the tuner kept saying it had to be stall because he shouldn't have to touch trq mngmt files with that low of stall as well...but wouldn't by turning files off show that it is in the tune? and not the stall and BTW tranny guy tested stall and could never get it to reach 3000 Quote

The guy that did the tune work was the one that came up with everything that was done to the engine based on another truck, the other truck had a stall of 3000 or higher was running slicks and if I remember right dry shot of nos and was running low 11's was told mine should do high 11's. Ended up so frustrated never went to track...Tune guy was supposed to be famous for doing vette tunes that were dominating Quote
zippy Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 I would say you have alot of programming work ahead of you. Quote
Krambo Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 I would say you have alot of programming work ahead of you. I agree. First find out the code number you were getting an post it up. Quote
chpspecial Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 where are you located, this sounds like tuning a tunning problem. and it sounds like your mechanic copied either chases set up or azfastestss, what he forgot is the many hours of tunning those trucks have, and the many trial and error hours that have gone into them. SSThunder Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 Sounds like you need to get that tune fixed. Do you have a built trans because you're pushing a lot of HP it sounds like with your setup. when you get things worked out you're going to trans that trans. Quote
HAILRZR Posted September 19, 2008 Author Report Posted September 19, 2008 The code was the 0757, and was told it stands for.... 2-3 shift valve performance Quote
zippy Posted September 19, 2008 Report Posted September 19, 2008 That code will cause it to be stuck in 3rd, but not put it in reduced power. Quote
HAILRZR Posted September 19, 2008 Author Report Posted September 19, 2008 located in Iowa but ecm was sent out of state, thinking to AZ Quote
HAILRZR Posted September 19, 2008 Author Report Posted September 19, 2008 That code will cause it to be stuck in 3rd, but not put it in reduced power. before it would throw code it ran like a raped ape, but it would get stuck in third within a day...now that torqe managment files are off it is a least drivable, but now power and shift points are messed up, the problem was no one could get it to stop throwing code... and was sick of rebuilding trans, and throwing money at it... so tried turning off the torqe files just to have my truck back as this went on for 4-6 months and needed to have wheels...now have 2nd set of wheels so... trying to decide what to do next Quote
