I had a set on my old Z-71 and left them on at night. The carbon fiber style uses a dot matrix design pattern. (not made of real carbon fiber) If I remember right, They allowed about 35% more light through over the smoked covers. I didn't think they looked to bad at all. Here is a picture of them on my old truck. I had to removed the top ones only because I finally lost one in the cold weather after 9 years of having them on. You can see how well they kept the original headlight nice and clear. Not all hazed or yellowed. Just a thought for you. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

garagemethods Posted October 24, 2008 Author Report Share Posted October 24, 2008 thanks for the responds. but yea takin covers off everytime i drive at night would be too much of a hassle. what i'm thinkin is to black out the side markers and then do an extremily light coat of the vht over my headlights. mbarnes Posted October 24, 2008 Report Share Posted October 24, 2008 i added a couple drops of black into some clear coat and just lightly tinted mine. they came out great. when you think they might need one more coat STOP. also i have black truck so it adds i to the dark look.
