DanY
Is there any problem running the spare tire for a couple of weeks? I curb checked my SS this morning. Chunked a piece of the rim lip from the tire. I ordered a wheel from gmpartsdirect and just wanted to make sure that running the spare will not cause any differential problems due to different diameters. Bad day. I'm pretty POed at myself right now. There goes my sway bar money.
zippy
should be fine going by specs. the spare should be about the same height as the stock tire.
costabilo
Factory spare ran with factory tires is within specs. Cannot say the same if your tires are a non-factory size.
DanY
Thanks for the info. I do have factory tires and spare. I put the spare on this afternoon. Suprisingly it handles pretty well with the spare on the front. Steering wheel may be a bit cocked, I'm not sure, but it tracks well. I'll get an alignment to be sure after the replacement wheel arrives. The only other good news is that I now know that the factory wheel and tire do fit in the spare location. Now I hope gmpartsdirect gets me the wheel quickly. Can't stand that ugly black wheel and huge sidewall tire. Still feeling really stupid and a bit poorer.
