This might sound like to much fore some people, but i gotta get this monkey of my back and post this, the reason im tipping this post is because i hope everybody is as appretiative of what the own, family is very inportant to me and i feel like my truck is part of the family, let me share with you part of my story and i hope you can understand why i have such a passion :chevy: .

ever since i was little i remember taking my hot wheels and grabing my moms nail polish and painting them, taking them apart and swaping wheels, ive always loved cars, my dad doesnt really care for them but i ghees i got this bug from my grandpa, he was a race car driver in mexico, and ighees the reason il love trucks is cause of him, he always had an old ford, a chevy truck or our international scout wich we still own, i was 18 wen i got my liscence. My first car was an 87 sentra,(hey gotta start somewhere)but believe it or not i have a speeding for going 91( on a step hill) in that damn thing, but i love :D . My second love was a 96 ford mustang svt cobra convt. , black on black, what a ride, and so much power for an 18 year old, i had friends that were scared of, everybody droopd their jaw when i first took it to school. because i was always the kid that hoped on the bus while everione had their car, i endeed up having to give back because the guy that sold it to me did not tell me it was salvage, i dint whant too but my dad insisted. my My 3rd love was my 99 GMC sierra stepside v6 regular cab, it belong to my mom and was reaaly the car i first learned to drive in, it hade prevously belong to my mom, i rememberd one night i took it out with out permission so i could take this girl i was out going out with home, i made a huge dent on the side from trying to get the truck back in the garage in a hurry :uhoh: , well everything went to heel there after, did i mention i did not have a liscence and was 17, but im still here, barely. :D Finally we get to my current relationship, i preety much got this truck because i wanted something with power, good looks and something i would be proud to hand over to mi kids when i have some, i work so hard for it, i have traveled all over the state with it because of what my job requires, ive been to L.A six times. yuma, Hemet, Escondido and chula vista for work purpose and not to mention all the other places ive been, (20.000. miles in 2 years).

but i know that everitime i turn that key, step on that pedal itll perform with grace, my most memorable race so far has go the be the one i had after the christmas party we had after work, 3 months after i took ownership.

after saying my goodbyes and happy new years i desided to go cruising, when my wish came true, an svt lightning right in front of me, a how lonng i waited for this race, its 2 A.m. and the street are clear, were both at the light and slamed it when it got green, its what dreams are made of, were both neck to neck, we go maybe 2 miles down main,, past the strip and past the court house next to it, i ghees the police had there own party.

i finally had to let him go because i was on the oopposite lane( i hope there arent any cops reading this :D ), it was a good way to end the year, this going to be my second year with her and am preety happy with it. :jester::):)

thanks for reading my post and hope to here from all of you and hear what you think :)

i def think this is in the wrong section. but i will have to say my truck is not just a truck. none of my vehicles are. everyone makes fun of me for having a truck and not using it as a truck. its the fact that i want to drive a truck, doesnt mean i need a truck. i like to keep it as clean as possible and take the best care of it that i can. i take pride in having a nice clean vehicle. alot of people just dont understand and think im nuts or stupid. its not just a truck. its my truck, its part of me, its who i am.

Nice write up slammed, well I don't first of all I don't own a sss. But I treat my truck as well as if it was. I wish I had one, but times were tough back then. I've had some thoughts about trading my truck in for an sss but I've gotten soo attached to her. I like my truck, and I see sss drive around and I just drool over them, and imagine how much it would of been if I would of actually gotten one. But then I think my truck is good, just needs work. And iam not going to give up on her, that's how attached I am.

My truck is more than just a truck to me also. i have worked my A** to get this trcuk and never plan on letting it go. people give me crap all the time. they tell me its just a truck it dosent have to be washed every week. they also dont understand why i put it away every winter. i mean it does suck not having heated seats in my dd or AWD. but on the other hand in my eyes it the only way to keep miles off of it and to keep it looking so good. i have old guys tell me how nice it is. right before i put it away for the winter i was out driving it and i had some guy about 50 or so drooling over it every stop light we got stopped at he would just keep asking me tons of ? about it. and he was in a 2009 toyota tundra.

In the wrong section but my passion for my SSS is strong, I take better care of the truck than myself, seriously.

My truck came to me through an unfortunate event of my grandfathers death, so this truck is more than a vehicle, a Silverado Super Sport, a race truck, a show truck etc etc. Every time I step into it I look at my grandfathers rosary hanging off the rearview mirror and its just beyond words basically. Every time I hear it start I always smile.

The thing that really makes me appreciate the truck is that my grandmother loves it. She has alzhiemers but everytime she looks at the truck she replies "wow, thats nice." And thats pretty amazing for a 12 year alzheimers patient to process the whole thought, comprehend it and reply.

This truck will remain in my name for the rest of my life. I go through rough times due to health and I still wont part with it.

Sorry about the whole life story here, but its hard to explain what the truck means to me in a few sentences. Its part of me and of my grandfather (my dad was a dipshit).

i don't have an SS but i drive its cousin the VHO. i just think its cool to drive something so rare...like only 957 VHOs were assembled in 2004 with the white gmc sierra being the rarest color to be made..i find that cool. and i really wouldn't call it passion, as i'm not obsessed with the trucks but its nice to have a damn good looking, powerful & reliable vehicle i can drive day in and day out.

wow, i know messed up by putting it on the wrong section :tumbleweed: sorry, but wow whata response from eeveryone i mean wow, and here i thought it was weird to whipe down your truck everyday, i mean the only reason im saying that is because i broke up with a girl because she said "its too much".

hey if she talks crap about her (Kathy,my truck) then she talks crap about me and who i am, hell with that, its nice to know there more guys out there that do 'too much' for their valued possetions :pepsicheer::chevrolet:
