My buddy collects small window 2nd gen Firebirds, has has a few gorgeous cars. I'm a 69 TransAm lover and I prefer the small back window Firebirds, but my brother LOVES the big back window gen2 cars. TempestPSO
Thanks all glad you like it. It has actually been in my family since it was first purchased new, and was fully restored about 5 years ago, unfortunately the engine finally gave out last year after 89K, replaced it with a Jasper 6 and kept as much of the original set up as possible. Being as it was bought during the gas crisis it doesn't have one of the more spectacular engines of the time but it def runs very well and looks sharp. I don't think there are many of the redbird edition left, it was a pretty limited run along with the blue and yellow birds. There is nothing like getting in something with that much hood if front of you, lol. I figure with Pontiac becoming extinct its good to have around to remind people of the brand that was. TempestPSO
Yes I'm really bummed at pontiac's fate, look at all the awesome new models of new sports cars that are heavily modeled after older classics like the new camaro body style. Knowing gm, if times were better I'd bet we'd have seen a new firebird on the same chasis with great styling that was a throwback to one of the classic years. Now that the federal gov. is in charge I don't have alot of faith we'll see anything really powerful or stylish again.
