hossram64
Just wondering how I would go about removing clutch fan in order to install efans? Thanks
zachm89
take a big wrench and put it on the nut that is attached to the pulley, then hit it with a mallet or dead blow hammer counterclockwise (to the left looking at the front of the truck) one good wack and it will spin right off! just pull off the air intake tube, no need to pull off the belt or anything. 2bfast
Just wondering how I would go about removing clutch fan in order to install efans? Thanks If you go to O'reillys, you can rent clutch fan tools for removal and reinstalling.
rojo_143
since in most cases you have to change your belt anyways. As stated in the HPM e-fan install instructions i just took a pair of vise grips and clamped the belt together around the pulley and used that to stop it from spinning then just used a giant adjustable wrench to take it off. zachm89
One solid tap on the end of the wrench with a mallet and it comes right off. It isn't on there super tight so there's no use trying to muscle it off and hold the belt still. It's a super easy thing to take off. Cramer
I just did my e-fans the other day and just took a pipe wrench and hit it with a dead blow. It came loose and I just spun the fan and it came off. Very easy to do.
SSmoothSilSS
I just did mine but it was hard to break loose, I tried for a few times and it just wouldn't break, so I sprayed W-40 and let it sit for a half an hour and it took a couple of tries and finally broke and spun right off.
