I went thursday night, and made sevreal passes, and had maybe a 3 car wait at the most.

let me check the calender, and see when a good sat would be. I will post a date for those that are interested.

the date for the rain out is sept 26. we will try it again.

trak opens at 4:00pm, and will close at 10pm.

hey guys there is a smack down series going on at HMP tonight. 9/16

off of the beltway. Its an 1/8mile track.

no trophies, just bragging rights.

show up tonight, and the next time you go it's half price.

happens every other thursday.

rain outs will be the week inbetween

I made some phone calls prior to our first event and had a good meeting with the track owners and their Marketing Manager (John Mandabach) and we drafted up a partnership agreement between HMP and LS1TECH to cover this series.

Houston Motorsports Park will be listed as a site sponsor here, and will be using our forums to help promote this event, as well as their other scheduled events (see their schedule on their website at www.HoustonMotorsportsPark.com ).

Our Houston Smackdown Series will be listed on their calendar of events, which will be distributed via flyers, mail-outs, and on their website.

HMP has worked out a special deal for the participants of these races. If you are entering this event, you will receive a complimentary tech card at the end of the event, which can be used to enter the next event. So, show up to race, pay your entry/tech fee ($20) and you will be given a free tech card to come back and race again for free at your next event.

So, lets get this place rocking for the people at HMP!

The Houston Smackdown Series is a bi-weekly gathering at our local 1/8-mile track, Houston Motorsports Park ( website ) to be held on every other Thursday starting at 7:30 pm. Gates open at 6pm. Our informal "series" is open to all LS1/LT1 GM engine powered vehicles, as well as all 5.0/4.6 Ford engine powered vehicles. Truck class is open to any street driven make/model truck, including diesels. This gathering is is a way for everyone to come out and meet eachother and get some good grudge match racing done. Several Houston area performance shops will also be using this series to bring out their latest weapons and issue smackdowns on eachother.

Spectators $10

Racers $20 (all racers will also receive a free tech card for entry at their next event, buy one get one free)

GENERAL RULES

Each vehicle may only hold one class title. If you compete in and win two different classes, you may select which class title to keep. The 2nd place finisher in the class you decided not to represent will hold the second class title.

No back-halved rear suspension cars. All vehicles must be "stock type" rear suspension setup. Mini-tubs permitted, but rear suspension configuration must match the same style suspension that originally came with that vehicle chassis. No fiberglass body full drag cars. We are focusing more on the fast street cars, not all-out dragsters with this series.

All races are heads up. Handicaps (rear wheel staging, giving "the move") will not be permitted during elimination rounds. Pro Tree format. Each class is based on single elimination, "king of the hill" format. We will pair each vehicle up randomly in each class. ET/MPH does not have to be shown.

Gambling is permitted, but not mandatory. Please have any bets set up prior to the racing, as not to hold up the flow of racing.

Class title holders can be called-out or challenged on this message board. If class title holders are called out, they are allowed 10 days notice to defend their title (from the date of the call-out). If this 10 day period ends during an non-scheduled event week, they must appear at the next scheduled event to defend their title or it will be re-issued at that event.

This gathering/series is to be held every other Thursday night. Gates open at 6pm and racing starts at 7:30pm
