jtmarine02
About a few weeks back I posted the 1st light upgrade for my truck and now here is the completion of the light upgrade. I replaced my Amber 3157 front directionals with Switchback White/ Amber 3157 and let me say that I DONT REGRET THAT ONE BIT! See for yourselves: Here they are packaged- Here they are installed- I have a video which I will try to post on the next reply...

juriha
Very nice. Maybe post a lil how to on how you installed them? What was needed to make these work besides the bulbs themselves?

jtmarine02
Ok I will, For the most part they are simply plug and play with the exception of the turning signal LED bulbs needing inline resistors to prevent Hyper Flashing. I'm willing to answer any questions on how to, what resistors are needed, and how I installed them for anyone interested out there. Very nice. Maybe post a lil how to on how you installed them? What was needed to make these work besides the bulbs themselves?
juriha
Ya I know all of the other bulbs are just plug and play but I am interested to know how to do the resistor upgrade to make the directional LED bulbs work...
jtmarine02
Here are the tail lights: Packaged bulbs (notes- I ordered 2 extra sets in case of them burning out down the road, I also reused my AMBER 3157's I previously had as the front directionals for my rear turn signals) The required 50W/ 6Ohm Resistors for the turn signals- Tail lights after installation- Here they are with the Hazards on, the picture doesnt do them any justice. They are brighter than OEM. Edited June 14, 2011 by jtmarine02 (see edit history)
jtmarine02
I'll take pics of how to install the resistors and give my opinion on where to attach them to. I'll do that later this week if I can, but by this following upcoming weekend at the latest. Ya I know all of the other bulbs are just plug and play but I am interested to know how to do the resistor upgrade to make the directional LED bulbs work... jtmarine02
I'm getting everything off of ebay; for the White, Amber, and Blue 3157's LED bulbs and necessary 50W/6Ohm resistors I used the seller LED_option. I also used that same seller for my 194, necessary 25W/25Ohm resistors, and 912 LED bulbs. For the 3157 White/Amber Switchback LED's I used the seller motoringmax. Finally for the 921 Third Brake light LED's I used the ebay seller Kaizenmotor. All other LED interior bulbs were purchased by a combination of these same three ebay sellers. They ship fast, have quality products, and have good customer service. Hope that answers your question, also I hope it wasnt overkill... lol Sounds good, also where are you ordering all of your bulbs from? Including the resistors... jtmarine02
Here are the last set of pictures, for now..., of my interior dome light upgrade- Please feel free to comment or ask questions if you have either. Lastly,I plan to add blue LED's to both the gas/brake pedal area and the passenger footing area, which I'll wire to be able to dimm with the dimmer switch. diggerdan11
Looks Good, I have the same color interior lights. I only have one right now but thinking about adding a second one I had some Blue LEDs in my reverse lights too, they looks awesome but they were not bright enouph and it was hard to see backing up. Those are really bright though Where did you get those LEDs? Edited June 14, 2011 by diggerdan11 (see edit history)
