Adding Features...Power Adjustable Pedals

I have been walking the line of keeping the truck or trading it. I went and looked at the 08' Grand Cherokee Limited I wanted today. OTD price of 25k... I owe 11k on my truck don't know what I was thinking for even looking. Anyway, moving on. the decision to keep my truck means I have to face off the costly brake upgrade that I have been avoiding. I want to do a big brake kit on all corners with stainless lines and a hydro-boost conversion. I have spent a good majority of the day reading up on the hydro-boost conversion. As part of the conversion it looks like I will have to replace the brake pedal which brought me to ebay. I came across a power pedal assembly off of a 03 Escalade for about the same price as just a pedal which got me thinking... what would be needed to make this work in my truck. The Escalade, Avalanche and Tahoe had this option and they are more or less the same as my truck. Judging by the pictures, mounting looks the same as what I already have. I'm guessing I would need the power pedal assembly, wiring harness and door switch to make it work. The BCM may possibly also need to be flashed or whatever to turn that feature turned on but that would be taken care of with the custom tune I have also been putting off.

Anybody have any insight here or dealt with this already? I found a topic on GMFullsize about it but it was for a new body style and there was never any follow up posted.

I am about to do my hydroboost swap. The pedal only cost me $30 brand new. The whole swap with a new ps pump only totaled $170. All new lines, and everything. As for the adjustable pedals idk. As far as I could tell is you would have some electrical swapping.

Could you post the GM part numbers from your receipts?

I will try to find the part numbers. The HB unit is from a 06 Esky and the PS pump is from a 05 Avalanche. The lines are from Rock Auto and are for an 05 Avalanche too as the bends on the gear end will be able to clear my intercooler tubing. I will get the part number for the pedal asap. It was from GMpartsdirect.com.

Ok.

15854060 - Hydroboost unit. With short canister. Tahoes, Silverado 25-3500's, Escalades, Suburbans etc.

15734409 (new# 15906961)- HB pedal

19147660 - Hose. Hydroboost to Gear

19146801 - Hose. Hydroboost to Pump

Hoses are from a 04 Avalanche and are from Rock Auto. They are a little longer, and have a different bend on the hard line so I can run my IC piping out of the way, and these will allow me to keep them away from heat and tucked away nice.

Optional* 15234828 (new # 20756715) PS Pump.

Above is not needed if you plan on using the stock PS pump and a "T" fitting on the return line from the HB unit to the low pressure side of the pump. A 3/8" "T" and 3/8"id Hydraulic hose is used for the return.

If using a PS Pump with the return on the back of the pump, only the 3/8"id Hydraulic hose is needed along with clamps.

Here is a write up that was done on it. Some of the part numbers are different, but some are universal too.

Sine are you replacing your PS pump or adding the t fitting?

Does anyone know If this will work against the ABS system meaning will cause your Brakes to lock up or will it just apply more clamping pressure on the Brakes?

I am replacing my PS pump. I have a new alt/Ps bracket to put on so I decided since I have to take the ps pump off anyways I might as well get a new one. The only problem I have heard is that if you have the vac assist canister on the left side of the booster with the wiring harness coming out of it, you have to use a jumper wire from the outer two terminals to keep the brake light from coming on. The HB gives you more clamping force than vac brakes, and won't work against the ABS. The harder you press the brake pedal the harder the brakes are applied. Unlike the factory vac brakes where you can stand on the pedal and coast to a stop.
