f1ss
First let me say this could have gone in a couple different sections such as tuning, drivetrain and electrical. Now this may seem a stupid question, but with all the capabilities tuning can do, I thought maybe with the AWD trucks is it possible to change the power split ratio? I believe it is 32/68 from factory? Or is the power split ratio basically the transfer case and locked that way like AWD is compared to a 4x4? I look at a 4wd truck and was wondering if you have it in 2wd, you get all the power still to the rear wheels, correct? And once you switch to 4wheel the power is split through the transfer case to the front diff and the rear basically loses some power to the front? Then again I was telling myself if this was possible it would have already been done (tweaking the power ratio). This question 1st started off simple, but the more I thought about it I am confusing myself.......my meds for my shoulder arent helping make sense of this question either. I know a decent amount in bolt-ons, but trying to broaden my horizon out to tuning and engine internals now that I have my setup/goal down and ready to start collecting parts. Thank you in advance everyone. -A
misterp
...with the AWD trucks is it possible to change the power split ratio?... Nope; that's hard-built into the design of the transfer case, whether that transfer case is AWD or 4x4. Mr. P.

Guest jasonhensley22
Man, good question though, that would have been cool if we could move the power to the front a little more than the rear...
Silverad0 SS
Man, good question though, that would have been cool if we could move the power to the front a little more than the rear... yeah but that wouldnt be good, the front end is alot weaker then the straight axle
Guest jasonhensley22
Ah true, but here in the winter it would be better on the snow with the fronts pulling
