AC SS
I did a 6.0 swap on my truck that was a v6 but still have my stock rear end I have an opportunity to buy a 04 Ss rear end but I was told it not a good upgrade was wondering what you guys think may be a dumb question but I need some help thanks
MARTYW
If your truck is a 2WD, you better go with the 14 bolt. The AWD SS trucks like mine only have a 10 bolt, which is fine for AWD, since the power is split between the front and rear differentials. But the 2WD SS trucks came stock with the 14 bolt to handle all of the power. The 04 is an AWD so it should be a 10 bolt. 90zxdriver
Were there any other trucks that utilized the 14-Bolt w/ 4.10 gears and had disk brakes?
silverado777
You could always get the ten bolt and beef it up. Thats what I did with mine and it has lasted me so far.
aasilveradoss
what about a ford 9bolt? I know it takes a bit to get it to fit but they are indestructible (and im not a ford guy)

MARTYW
You could buy the T/A differential cover and get the cradle stud kit. That is supposed to beef up the 10 bolt. And, the T/A differential covers look awesome! Edited January 18, 2012 by MARTYW (see edit history)
