SuperDave Posted October 4, 2015 Report Share Posted October 4, 2015 I bought my 2003 SS in August of 2003.... the first week I had it I painted the grills and ducts both gloss black (base coat/clear coat) just like the bumper. Couldn't stand the cheap gray plastic looking color they were stock. The clear coat makes them more durable and resistant to bug guts anyway. Also painted the front bumper cover with a couple of extra coats of clear while at it... for mil buildup so I could polish it a few more times before burning through to the base coat...
