These should help, they made my mind up when a mod/tuner showed me these videos and Im doing the mod this fall.

And in this video it compares a Red truck without Detroit Tru-tracs and the Black truck with front and rear Tru-tracs.

A true posi rear will be a pita in a dd truck. The reason for a trac lock or limited slip diff is to provide both wheels with the same amount of power when they are under the same load, and when going around corners it will unlock allowing one wheel to spin faster (outer wheel on the turn) and not hop around. A true posi will put more stress on the rear if used in a daily driver. It will be a pain to park, and to turn at low speeds.

I think you are confusing "true posi" and a spool. Posi is a slang for the GM Posi-Traction rear end. Posi or posi-traction is a limited slip differential. You are correct that a locker and limited slip will allow your wheels to turn at different speeds while turning. A spool on the other hand locks the axles together and forces both wheels to turn at the same speed. You will hear people refer to them as full spools, which replace your whole carrier, and mini spools, which replace the spider gears. You will also hear people mention welded spider gears, which is the low-buck/homemade way to get the same result as a mini spool. Either way you do not want any kind of spool, mini spool or welded spider gears in a daily driver. Now a locker is not a limited slip. Limited slips use clutches, gear cones, etc to limit the amount of power going to the wheel with the least amount of traction. Lockers on the other hand lock the axles together and act as a spool would, making both wheels turn the same. But when you turn it dis-engages and re-engages. Lockers will sometimes make an audible sound and sometimes you can feel them to locking and unlocking going around turns.

If your '06 SSS only spins 1 wheel, chances are you have already hurt the stock Gov-lock, almost guaranteed. Upgrade to a Detroit TrueTrac and you will be fine, it costs roughly $550 for the unit....
