FalconPilot
I saw some posts a while ago about this, but the search for MP3 comes up empty. Is it possible to hook up an mp3 player to a stock radio? I have the 6 disk with XM. Is there an "aux" hookup on the back of the radio that can be accessed with the aux-cd button? Lefty
PAC Audio makes two different devices (1 for an aux connection and 1 for an I-Pod) that will plug into the auxillary connection on the back of the factory radio. There are some issues with both though. Read here... I-Pod
FalconPilot
Thanks! Looks like an idea. Anyone know what type of input the aux is on the back of the radio? RCA, optical, phone, bare wires, ....... What I am getting at is can I just hook into the back of the radio and use the normal output and intreface of the player? Lefty
The aux input on the back of the radio is a proprietary interface. If your so inclined I am sure a connector can be made with the wiring schematic. The PAC-audio site has a connector that will plug into the radio and into their devices. The aux-box will give you 1 rca type aux connector.

FalconPilot
Thanks all. I may wire something up if I can get a wiring diagram. If I get lazy, I will order the premade setup Thanks again!
Dylan06SS
I was just thinking about this the other day.... The BMW's have a factory option for an I POD connection now and it still maintains all of the steering wheel controls for the I POD... wonder if theres a setup that'll do the same for us? FalconPilot
when I checked out the link to the PAC audio stuff, it sounded like they had the problems fixed as of last week. That should give us everything we want, if you want to use an IPod. I am not sold on a hard drive system.. The flash players seem like a more reliable system
