desrtrat Posted February 5, 2013 Report Share Posted February 5, 2013 he doesnt have an external regulator, he doesnt have a fuel filter (GM... ) the fuel pump regulates the fuel pressure, its a returnless system so it kinda eliminates that issue. they pretty much either die or work, almost never in between. forgot he's got a 04... Aldofashow Posted February 15, 2013 Report Share Posted February 15, 2013 I know it's been some time since last posted I was thinking cats but today I was driving my brothers 2500 hd and the infamous p0300 code came up truck was poping and farting first I was thinking shit it gotta be the cats it did the same thing my truck did it wasn't it was the fuel pump but acted like a clogged cat it would drive normal no check engine light get on the highway and engine light would flash and temp would rise it did this for weeks but today it died it would start and idle and I might get a mile after it colded then die so check the fuel pressure if ya haven't fixed the problem it might save you from what I went through today soon as we fixed it iwas thinking of ya Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'll go new cats eventually but for now I need it to run right and pass emissions. The only Denali's that come up here are SUV's from rich soccer moms that can't put the phone down while they drive. Here is how it went down. About a month ago went to certify the engine swap. Failed visual because the cats, and popped a misfire. The tech said could be the cat causing it. Now Saturday I was moving. Pulling out of my old driveway with a trailer and heard the rattle at about 3 MPH. Thought oh shit there goes the cat. Brushed it off because I was broke.
