silverado.408
Ok so reason I ask is I have a custom cam that I had in my ls1 z28 and dart 205 heads and it WORKED very well it pulled really really hard. I took that off and did a differnet rout with the z28. Im doing a build for my truck and im looking at using that cam and possibly those heads on a lq9 or lq4 if it will work. Truck is rgsb 2wd roughly 4500lbs+/-. The cam is a 235 .620 243 .623 111+4 lsa. And for the heads The dart 205 have a 62cc chamber. From all the scanning around I have been doing Not many ppl run anything close to that all in the 224 through low 230 range. If I need to I will keep the stock heads. but I dont feel like having to buy all new crap. My overall goal is low 11's high 10's And have a hell of a street truck. If that stuff wont work then Ill probably go turbo lq4 route. But I love the old school big cam sound. So any ideas? Oh Berfore I forget Nitrous is always an option!! The_aSSet
to get into 10's and 11's youre gonna be spending alot of $$$, these trucks are heavy motherfvckers
Cramer
You will be very close with PTV clearance. Are the heads milled to the 62cc or small combustion chamber? You will have pretty high compression and prob will barely be able to run pump gas on it. Also the 205's are a little small to get into the 11's IMO. silverado.408
The heads are as is straight from dart. So im assuming that its small chambers. And From reading and looking around ppl are getting my style truck into low 11's high 10's wiht roughly 550 -700 hp. And what I'm seeing it coming down to is there setup. Some turbo some N2O. If I can run this setup I will put her on the bottle. I thought that 205's where kinda small for a 6.0 as well but alot of ppl run them on 383's and all the way up to 408's. But What its going to come down to is will that setup work. If I cant use those heads than Ill just get the 317 cleaned up. But if I can than that just saved me a little cash. Im not to worried about the weight of the truck cause i can always get rid of things not needed. So again my original question still stands. Thanks again for the help
silverado.408
Again my truck isnt an SS its a W/T reg cab short bed 2wd with roll up windows and 17inch aluminum rims. So its not that much of a pig. I weighted her in 2011 when I PCS'd and she was 4410 with a full tank of fuel and a washer in the bed.
