Damn swirl marks

Recommended Posts

So I washed and waxed my truck last weekend and I thought it came out great. Well if you look at it from about a 45 it does look great. But from a side vies strait on you can see all these tiny swirl marks from where I rubbed the wax on. Wax was new and so was the applicator. I didn't try and smash it on there. So now I'm at a loss for how to repair these little swirl marks. Besides the obvious which is buff them out. But I have never really buffed a car. So my big question is, does anyone know of a product that I can hand applicate that will help?

Thats gonna be pretty tough by hand man. A machine is going to be the best bet, i.e. buffer or polisher at least. Was the wax you used some type of cleaner wax? I have never seen a wax with a clean pad leave swirls.

You can remove some light swirls by hand, but a machine is really the only way to remove them completely.

You also have to make sure you paint, and the pad you used to was is completely free of any little spec of anything that could possibly scratch your paint. You could have some tinny bug guts on your truck and you can scratch the clear coat. You really should clay bar your truck before you wax it, this will make sure there are no contaminants on your paint that could leave swirls.

Automatic car washes are by far the worst thing you could possibly do to your paint. So if you use those, stop!

If you want something that will take it out by hand check this out:

Get some of this:

http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-97-adams-swirl-haze-remover-car-polish.aspx

And use the proper pad with it:

Then hit it with a coat of this:

With this pad:

Then Wax

They are a little expensive, but well worth it, and It should make your paint look great

You can also get this Kit, and save yourself all that headache

Bought a buffer and all the mcquires products to go through the proper steps. Going to wash clay bar and start the process this weekend. My friend who is a body man is going to babysit me so I don't destroy my SS.
